Dear Abby: we earn money from my hobby, and my partner believes she gets half

DEAR ABBY: my family and i retired five years ago. I have sufficient cost savings as well as an exemplary pension for us to call home comfortably.

We took up a spare time activity 3 years ago that creates about $5,000 in annual income, that I reserve in a bank account that is separate. My spouse asked, “what exactly are you saving that money for? ” I stated why not a classic automobile, assisting with a household reunion ( back at my part), etc. She responded, “We have to be regarding the page that is same how it gets invested because 1 / 2 of it really is mine. ”

When I reached off to my son for their insight, he sided with her because (legally) 50 % of the things I have is hers. I’ve not a problem consulting along with her on a significant spending taken from our other cost savings, but with this one I feel this woman is managing and petty. Your ideas?

DEAR HOBBY: we agree with you. Not only this, but she also lacks tact.

DEAR ABBY: My child simply informed me that she’s going to be hanging a deer mind in their family room. Her live-in boyfriend likes to hunt, and she actually is carrying this out for him. Just thinking me physically ill about it makes. My thoughts seek out a dying animal who is enduring.

We gave my daughter $12,000 to purchase this home. I’d like her to rethink her choice in line with the fact that this disturbs me personally, perhaps not that I’m trying to push her around her this money because we gave. I am aware she’s going to personally take it and start to become upset at me. Help!

DEAR UNEASY: i believe we both know your child is a grown-up and entitled to make that choice without worrying that her fella’s hobby bothers you. (more…)
